WHY GO DIGITAL?

The quality of the recordings can be much clearer and there is no tape or mechnical mechanisms to degrade.

Fewer delays will be caused by repeatedly playing back transcriptions, if a superior recording is sent. We would definitely recommend that you opt for a digital system. Those offered by Philips and Olympus provide excellent recording quality.

DSS files (Digital Speech Standard) files are compressed and these are designed for dictations. These files take up the least space, and upload and download quickly. Most recorders will also record in WAV format, although as these are the largest, they take a long time to upload and download.
